Stretching with Still Life, July 11-12
In this workshop, we'll explore the art of painting still life, working
with various objects and compositions to challenge ourselves and grow
as artists. The renowned teacher Charles Hawthorne famously remarked,
"Great artists never stop painting still life."
John Lasater, with years of experience leading still life retreats,
brings a wealth of objects to paint and a deep well of expertise to
guide students. His approach may just inspire a fresh appreciation for
this timeless genre.

2-Day Portrait Workshop, December 5-6
Learn to paint portraits from life from John Lasater at this two-day
intensive workshop which will run 9am-4:30pm each day. Beginners are
welcome, but we recommend that there be some familiarity with the
painting medium you are bringing. Oil, acrylic, or watercolor are
acceptable painting mediums. On both days, there will be instruction,
demonstration and practice, all with a live model present.
If you are worried about the difficulties of painting a face, don't
worry, leading up to the workshop there will be a couple videos to
watch and some exercises to familiarize you with drawing and forming a
face.
