Tidying-Up The Studio (Five Paintings $500 and Under)

This piece was done on location in Westcliffe, CO from a high vantage
over the beautiful Wet Mountains. The sun cast such a pale glow, I was
enchanted.

This was a lovely place in Easton, Maryland, painted on location at the
Plein Air Easton contest.

From a small inlet in Jupiter, Florida. Top-down sunlight creates a
visual puzzle that can be very intriguing to us artists!

A step back in time, this is along the Fort Smith Historical Park where
troops were garrisoned during the Civil War, and where the famous
"Hanging Judge" from True Grit executed justice.

This was an interesting subject on a cloudy day in Easton, Maryland.
Marinas invite such interesting patterns, but beyond that, this humble
little boat was crying out to be treated with dignity.

Major Landscape Awards 2012-Present

It has been one heck of a ride. Since 2012 I have attended over 50
major national plein air events, and won top awards in about half of
them. These highlights don't give you the full picture because you
can't see the many wonderful paintings that I was in competition with.
I've heard it explained that there is a searching soul in my work and
this has the effect of surprising judges and fellow artists year after
year. Some artists are really good at being consistent, but I seem to
be never satisfied. It's difficult for me to ever do the same thing
twice when I can see there is a lifetime of options available before me.
All that to say, I'm blessed to have had some notoriety in this sea of
gifted painters that surround me.
